This did not quite work for me. [a:L.A. Witt|3185029|L.A. Witt|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1386112911p2/3185029.jpg] is a bit of a hit and miss author for me. I did finish this one but I found that I skimmed a lot towards the end. The chemistry was lukewarm and lacklustre. It was a pretty predictable and at times unpleasantly preachy. Definitely low angst but it also lacked substance. I'm not a fan of tortured, paranoid MCs ... heavy tormented by self-doubt and fragile. MCs lacked the complexity and depth needed to really carry the story or make the connection sing. A bit of a miss for me unfortunately. On the surface, this book had all the elements that I usually really enjoy ... except it really didn't come together as well as I hoped.
