Okay, I get it now.

This book has been recommended on Reddit over and over again for about a year now, but I couldn't bring myself to read it because the back tattoo of the cover model kind of gives me the ick. Which, I realized, was a tad shallow of myself.

Anyways, the rumours are true! Cash Wall is the ultimate himbo hero. I genuinely didn't think I could like a character who unironically had truck nuts hanging from his pick up truck, but here we are.

I've read a couple by Cate C. Wells, and you need to be a skilled writer to write such flawed characters and still make them likable and relatable. Perfect is boring anyways, and this book reminded me how there's often more that lays below the surface; just like in real life. People are multifaceted and are rarely exactly what we make of them on the first impression. It's a nice reminder.
