This book is an amazing look at the Civil War form a different perspective. It is interesting how most stories of war are told from a masculine perspective but war happened to women too and there were many ways that women impacted the various war efforts. The four women in this story showed different levels and perspectives on courage and they sacrificed many things and put their lives and their families lives at risk, all while supporting a cause that was important to them.

You cannot help but become engaged and enthralled in these women's pursuits and lives and, no matter which side of the war they were on, you can't help but be inspired by their spirits. Highly recommend!
