This is a super cute story and I really enjoyed the characters.  It's a bit of a mix between Willy Wonka and your favorite found family book.  The plot is super predictable but the story still kept me wanting to see how we got to the end. There probably could have been a bit more development and everything ends so neatly that I can see why some people didn't like it.  That being said, I found the whole thing super charming and liked all the books within the books.
