The Faerie Mates by Michelle Madow

1.0

If you really want to know what I think of this unoriginal, copycat series, read my review for Faerie Pawn. I'm only writing this to add something else to that review.

As mentioned in my previous review, in Big Brother, the Head of Household (HOH) usually cannot compete in the HOH competition that follows the one they won. But when it gets down to the last few players, they MUST compete in a three-part competition. Winner of part 1 is safe and doesn't have to compete in part 2. In part 2, the losers compete. Then in part 3, the winner of part 1 competes against winner of part 2, and the winner gets the big prize. In Faerie Mates, the Emperor of the Villa (EOV) usually cannot compete in the EOV competition that follows the one they won. But when it gets down to the last few players, they MUST compete in a three-part competition. Winner of part 1 is safe and doesn't have to compete in part 2. In part 2, the losers compete. Then in part 3, the winner of part 1 competes against winners of part 2, and the winner gets the big prize.

Every time another rip-off appeared in these books, it completely took me out of the reading experience and made me roll my eyes, just as it did with the 2nd book. Luckily, the last book seems like it will be slightly different since the competition ends at the end of this one.

If you're considering spending WAY too much money on this book or the first 3, do yourself a favor and just go watch the last few episodes of any season Big Brother, and you'll know exactly what happens. Feel free to read Torrence's chapters though since those haven't been ripped right from a reality show. Well... at least not one I've seen.
