The September House by Carissa Orlando
3.0
September House by Carissa Orlando was an ok read. I hope "OK" isn't going to be my May theme but so far, I have had 2 "ok" books and 1 I loved.
This book actually starts out excellent, I was really invested in all the characters, especially the ghosts. But then.... Katherine comes to the house, and I could not stand that woman/child. Ugh I hated reading about her, her tantrums and shitty demeanor. This is also the point where the repetitive dialect and actions start taking place (insert yawn).
I heard so many great reviews of this book from people that I trust their judgement and now I am side eyeing them like really?!
I didn't hate the book, I actually loved Margaret and all the Ghosts but everything else was ehh. Also, not really horror, more paranormal mystery. I love haunted house books, but this isn't one I'd recommend as being great.
