I Believe in a Thing Called Love
by Maurene Goo
Trigger warnings: death of a parent (in the past), lying, toxic relationship (in the past), medical emergency.
Okay, here's the deal: I wrote "Review to follow" on this almost exactly a month ago and then never came back to it, so my thoughts at this point are going to be pretty vague simply because I DON'T REMEMBER MOST OF IT.
Anyway. This was pretty cute, but there was also a lot of "Girl, use your words" type stuff. Like, planning out a car accident just to see if he'll come check if you're okay? That's bonkers and also very expensive for people and whyyyyyy would you do that omg. There's also a LOT of lying going on, which I didn't love.
All of that being said, the K-Drama concept was pretty stinking cute, despite how many terrible life choices were involved. The story was fast paced and I liked the characters. So. Yeah. It's probably a good next step for teens who adore To All the Boys I've Loved Before.
