🎼"Life is so unnerving, for a servant who's not serving..." pretty much sums up this book lol

It felt like a mix of Catch-22 (but so much better in execution of the pointless circular conversations) and In the Lives of Puppets (but also better execution of some of those ideas). It was surprising in that I literally never knew what was going to happen next, and I never could have guessed where we were going to end up.

On the surface, it's a post-apocalyptic quest for meaning, but there's also a lot to chew on with respect to our current relationship with AI, classism, productivity, and who is "worthy" of rest. And once certain parameters are set, they can't be undone just because they aren't useful or wanted any longer, forcing the reader to examine the end point of our current societal structure.

I also really enjoyed getting to know these characters and wanted the best outcome for them. This was my first read from this author, and I am really excited to read more from him. He also read the audiobook, and he is such a good narrator. I was blown away!
