Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke
3.0

I’m gonna be really candid and just say this first. This is a weird ass book. The kind that at the end I 100% whispered out loud wtf. That being said, I didn’t not like it.

“Every story needs a secret. Wink is the odd, mysterious neighbor girl, wild red hair and freckles. Poppy is the blond bully and the beautiful, manipulative high school queen bee. Midnight is the sweet, uncertain boy caught between them.”

Ok let’s start with the characters. I hated every character in this book. Poppy was a nasty narcissistic mean girl that I would have loved to take down a few pegs. Midnight was the love sick puppy dog that was so easily manipulated he just looked like a chump. Wink I liked at first, the cute little innocent awkward odd girl. By the end of the book I hated her the most. The story line was weird and twisty and at times I had no fraking clue what was going on. And not in the mysterious fun way, in the I’m gonna dnf this book so fast way.

I did end up finishing this book for only two reason. The first being pure curiosity on just how much weirder it could get. The second being I really did genuinely enjoy April Genevieve Tucholke’s writing style. Overall I’m prob being generous with the amount of stars I gave this based on my own personal opinion. But if your curious and wanna give it a try, I certainly wouldn’t tell anyone not to read it.
