Scourged by Kevin Hearne

5.0

Well shit. I knew it had to end but I never wanted it to end. And now I'm bummed. Don't get me wrong -- Scourged was great. It had everything I've come to expect from Kevin Hearne: a two thousand year old Druid who comes across as someone I'd like to know and definitely would want on my side; beloved dogs; a sloth; Tasmanian devils; yetis; the Morrigan; unapologetic love of Gaia; excellent beer. Good guys, bad guys, backstabbers and loyal supporters. Elementals & gods & goddesses & demons & elves & vampires & things I don't even know what they are & mayhem & magical weapons and....

Okay, to be honest I don't care much about the beer. I'm into wine. But still.

I don't see why Mr. Hearne couldn't just keep writing about Atticus and friends forever. I mean, the Druid is two thousand years old. Surely there could be a few more things to say about him. But I get it. Kevin Hearne wanted to move on. Or maybe Atticus wanted him to move on. Whatever, I'm glad I read the books but damn, I'm sad they're over.
