An Orchestra of Minorities by Chigozie Obioma

Thoroughly enjoyed the world-building. I enjoyed that there was so much Yoruba and ideas that I, as a white American, had to struggle to understand. It wasn't as watered down for the white audience as much as other books have been. When I read a book set in a country I've never been before, I want some concepts to be confusing. No book or author should have to cater towards me as an audience. I enjoyed the quips against white culture being the standard.

I hated Chinonso. He was so selfish. He had no idea how to think of another person. Ndali HAD to love him. He DESERVED it. He would accept no less.

I don't think the author knows how to write female characters. Ndali had no depth.
