THIS IS EXCEPTIONAL!
It honestly took me some time to absorb everything. There was a lot of confusion on the world building and the 4 Londons but eventually I got through it. And the best thing about this? MAGIC!! WE HAVE FREAKIN' MAGIC!!!
I love all the characters but I am swooning over Delilah Bard! I've always been a fan of strong and independent female characters and Lila is the perfect combination of fearless and stubborn. #YOLO She loves adventures and to be able to live her life to the fullest. I am also excited with what she can do. I know she has a lot more in store for us and the secret about her eyes! OMG. Could she be an Antari too?? 😱
I also love Kell! That cold, distant aura. I would love to have more of his character arc and to see the extent of his magic on the following books. He seems distant but he loves purely and genuinely. Aw. His relationship with Rye just gives me all the mothereffin' feels! Their bromance is what I'm living for! That brotherly love is just ❤💙 They remind me of Chaorian so much!!
Rye. Idk why he reminds me of TOG1's Dorian when he was just a prince. His playful nature and obvious care and love of Kell just makes me so happy. Kell never knew his family and the fact that Rye and his parents love him as family just touches me to the core. I would also love to see more of him and if he could possibly possess magic in the next books.
And of course, Lila and Kell! Those little banters and short 'goodluck' kisses kills me with so much FEEEEELS!!! Can you two stop being so cute?? I know, I know. It is too early to ship and idk if there would ever be a ship but I love their partnership most of all. They have leaned on each other throughout the hardships and have had a fair share of saving each other's asses. I would love to see more of them fighting side by side. They are a great match. I also like that it did not focus on any romance which made even the tiniest moments special. Those lingering eyes, hesitant hugs, hand holding and short kisses are to die for. Idk if it would ever work or if there will ever be any possibility for this otp but I am definitely enjoying every second of it!
This book blew me away! The magic, the twists and turns of events just hooks you in. I am in awe of the world and the characters that V.E Schwab created. I am just excited to dive in on the next books. Off I go!~
