The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett

adventurous emotional funny lighthearted sad

4.75

One of the best Discworld stories so far. Tiffany Aching is the last of the series to be introduced, and shes absolutely brilliant. Pratchett writing through a nine year old somehow works so well, in an the emperor isn't wearing any clothes kind of way. He loses none of his eye for humanity, none of his existential tilt, none of his knack for twisting words and stories in ways you cant believe you'd never thought of. The wee free men are a delight, and the Quin was an excellent antagonist.
