Tip of the Iceberg: My 3,000-Mile Journey Around Wild Alaska, the Last Great American Frontier by Mark Adams

3.0

Adams retraces the 1899 Harriman expedition which had all the scientific superstars of the day to include John Muir. He alternates between his expedition and Harriman’s. Lots of eccentric and quirky encounters as well as an abundance of epiphanies and an over abundance of OMG moments from past and present. It’s just coastal Alaska though but its enough to enchant you and motivate you to visit.
