Thorns of Death by Eva Winners
5.0
You are beautiful, mia moglie. My wife. My lover. My reason. Without you, I’m nothing. With you, I’m everything.
This story is gripping. There isn't a boring moment in this book. From the beginning when Isla notices Enrico and was enthralled by his hot daddy vibes, I thought to myself YES, age-gap with Zaddy vibes.
As the story progresses, a lot of secrets, lies, and betrayals are revealed. There are many twists and turns with most of them impacting Isla. My heart broke for Isla and Enrico's kids.
Although Isla is charmed by Enrico's charismatic and sincere personality, she's not completely blind. "Fool Me Once, Shame on You; Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me".
There is a nice sisterhood aspect to this book that was refreshing given that this is a mafia romance.
I enjoyed that Isla and the kids developed a good relationship and she didn't force anything and let the relationship develop naturally. The author wrote these scenes spectacularly.
I would recommend reading Thorns of Lust and Thorns of Love, before reading this book because there are interconnected scenes.
