Hollow City
by Ransom Riggs
This book was better than the first, since it wasn't set on a single island and the characters travelled and met other peculiars (hooray!). This book was definitely more entertaining and fun to read, the events that happened didn't take too long, so they didn't have time to be boring. Even the characters seemed to gain different peronalities, which is always fun. Emma got an important role of the fierce leader, Olive, while a scared child, was plenty helpful, Enoch was a grump that pissed everyone off (but at least his comments were funny), Horace was posh, but had funny interactions, Browyn stayed her protective self, Hugh was a great help and Jacob... had no actual development. Like, I love the fact that the children gained personalities, but I didn't like that the MAIN CHARACTER had esentialy nothing personality wise. The only thing that seemed to be growing is his powers. So, plot wise this book didn't really get that big of an improvement but it was ceartainly way more entertaining, character wise some gained personalites (the children) and some just didn't change at all (Jacob).
