A Flame of the Phoenix by Chloe C. PeƱaranda
Did not finish book. Stopped at 54%.
This book is a jumbled mess of tropes, trendy things that tiktok loves.
Which is the main problem.
I liked the series, and the previous book was not bad, but this is really shitty. It's an insult to fantasy literature and does not hold its own.
There's no need for multiverse. Not everything has to be linked together; a good story is good on its own and does not need all this worldwalking bullshit if it's not handled properly.
I tried to resist, because I find some of the characters interesting and well written (all expect the protagonist, who is even worse in this instalment) but I can't do it.
I can't waste my time reading something that does not tell me anything and isn't even entertaining me.
