Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata

Not only was the premise lacking anything engaging, even for slice-of-life standards, the character development was attrocious. While it's not outright stated that Keiko is autistic at any point, the traits she possesses heavily imply she is, which only compounded my frustrations with how dull she was written to be. It's as if her only defining personality traits was confusion, like a confused AI attempting to pass a Turning test. It was such off-putting writing, it distracted from the overall intent. Wildly disappointed by this one.
