DreadfulWater Shows Up by Hartley GoodWeather

3.0

A thoroughly good mystery. I liked hanging out with Thumps DreadfulWater. He’s funny, self-deprecating and smart. I was surprised to find that the book was better than the mystery. Thumps is a good companion and there are several action scenes that were attention-grabbers, but I didn’t care too much about finding out who the murderer was. The dead bodies seem almost incidental as Thumps focuses primarily on clearing his girlfriend’s son, who’s entangled in the mystery, and may be guilty, or may not.
