Taming the Tiger Within: Meditations on Transforming Difficult Emotions by Thích Nhất Hạnh

3.0

When I first received this book (a gift from my employer that I picked from a very short list of options), I was incensed. It's just an edited collection of snippets of Thich Nhat Hanh from other books he's written, rearranged by someone else and arrayed in inspiringly brief chunks, usually no more than a few sentences long, on every other page! What?! Not what I signed up for.

But, as always with Thich Nhat Hanh's stuff, the quality of his voice penetrated and convinced me. It helped that the topic was relevant to my life, dealing at the time with a baby who occasionally cried at night despite me doing everything to help them. So, timely and good. I became mollified.
