Lark & Kasim Start a Revolution
by Kacen Callender
4,5 stars!
If I ever thought I didn't need a book which spoke out of my mind, my thoughts, my soul, this book proved me wrong.
I related a lot with Lark, Kasim, Sable, even Birdie (I love that they as an oc accompany Lark and I love the occasional things they say).
As a queer trans/enby person, who has dealt with a lot of the issues in the book (and still is), I felt seen and spoken to. I wished I could've read this book two years ago when I really needed it, since the messages are really important and hopeful and motivating. It was also so refreshing and great to see (or, read about) so much representation.
I only gave 4,5 stars, because books with a lot of romantic love (although it was cool here, but only in the end iykyk) and there was so much, what I'll just call wisdom, which isn't bad, but something that kinda somehow bores me a bit.
Nevertheless a great book to learn and to think about certain things (and maybe even consider changing oneself).
I really did love it.
P.S it was kinda weird to read about the pandemic in a book haha (it did not affect the reading experience at all).
