Running Wild
by K.A. Tucker
The story
Marie is a vet in Alaska. She’s in her late thirties and very single, realising that her vision of marriage and a family might not be something she is likely to achieve. She called off her engagement to Jonathan when she was in love with pilot Jonah. But when he met Calla, the two had found their soulmates. When Marie goes out to the farm of dogsledder Tyler, the sparks fly at first but as they get to know each other, the attraction hots up. Tyler lost his pregnant wife and son two years before, and he isn’t ready for a relationship. And Marie’s definitely not ready to put herself into another tormented friendship.
My thoughts
I skipped from book one to three in this series, but it worked out as book two continues from book one. The stories are very different although the setting and storyline overlaps. Marie is older than Calla, more down to earth and at a totally different place in her life. I enjoyed reading this story so much, the backdrop of the dogsledding life and conditions, the financial challenges Marie faces as a vet supporting herself and her older parents. Her family dynamics. I loved how she put her love of animals ahead of herself and is passionate about helping others, the pets and indirectly many owners. I enjoyed her reality - single life, facing forty, siblings and friends. I loved reading this series ❤️
