darthsipid 's review for:
Thérèse Raquin
by Émile Zola
Somehow I had never heard of this book until it was an Audible Daily Deal. Honestly, I'd have passed it by without a glance, but Kate Winslet narrates it & since the plot seemed OK (if a little beyond my comfort zone, as I loathe cheaters), I bought it. Now I'm curious: what else have I missed out on thus far because it seemed too obscure to be of any interest to me? It's a wonderful case study of dreadful people who get EXACTLY what they asked for, but not what they wanted. Go procure a copy--it's public domain so it'll even be free.
