Didn't like it as much as the first one, but I still really enjoyed it. One of the few books that actually surprised me, multiple times. That almost never happens, so that earned it it's extra .25 star. I enjoy the complexity of morals, choice, courage vs reason etc etc.
Strong TW for rape, gore, violence, war. I don't know who told me this series was YA, but they are incredibly mistaken. I think that misunderstanding comes from the subconscious and subtle misogyny of being like "oh a female author AND a female lead?? Must be YA!!"

Moderate: Rape, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Grief
Minor: Suicidal thoughts, Vomit, Abortion, Suicide attempt
I don't know if I should tag racism because it's against fictional groups, but the fictional groups are very much based on real groups.
