This one hasn't been my favourite RotE book. I feel like Dragon Haven and City of Dragons should have just been one book, rather than being split into two. As one, they would have made for a great read, but alone, City of Dragons just felt like filler.

Rather than being plot or character forward, this one delved more into the lore of the dragons and the elderlings. It was definitely fun to learn about, but when combined with the usual slow pace from Hobb, it didn't really grip me.

The only plotline that really stood out was Malta and Reyn's. Anytime these two popped up, I would become a lot more engaged. Not only was it a treat to get their perspectives again after so long, but they also had the most interesting plot to follow.

I'm looking forward to seeing how things are going to pan out for everyone in Blood of Dragons, and seeing the Rainwild Chronicles to its end.
