Heavily character driven, told from the viewpoints of 3 of the 5 main characters. This story is about Ivan and Peter and their significant others. It starts out a bit slow, but crescendos nicely with a strong and touching finish. I loved Ivan and Margaret (and Alexi!!) - and wish there would have been more narrating from both of them, but I see how the majority of this story is centered around the growth and change of Peter. I really loved all of the characters, Peter the least, but was happy with how it ended. Author was very descriptive and had some beautiful writing.
