The Road: a Graphic Novel Adaptation
by Manu Larcenet
Fantastic adaptation that did McCarthy’s Road great justice.
This graphic novel does an outstanding job recreating the feeling of the world McCarthy originally created. I was super impressed by the detail, despair, and humanity within the drawings. Because of this, this is a tough read - the world the reader steps into feels not only real, but imminently possible.
I would have loved if this novel were just a bit longer – I felt there were some important pieces left out that would’ve added value and context, including some that felt vital to me in the ending.
Overall, beautifully done.
