The Hook-Up Experiment
by Emma Hart
REVIEW:
Now that's what I'm talking about! The second book following the crazy trio of friends, Mellie, Chloe and Peyton, is back and awesome!
I was excited for this one because of what Peyton does for a living, thinking that some fun chaos may occur and who would be able to tame a women who not only is super independent but extremely open when it comes to her sexuality. Peyton runs the site Pick-A-Dick PAD, which she helps choose the right guy aka Dick for a women. She matches, long term, hook-ups, and just all around a good old time. But when her brother Dom bets her she can't have sex with a guy three times without falling for him, the deal is on. She enlist her friends to pick the guy, but little does she know her friends pick the one guy who burt her in high school. Elliot Sloane.
I really enjoyed Peyton, she still had some immaturity but not like Mellie, she just had a broken heart from high school to a guy who she just really liked. I feel like that's something that has happened to many people in high school and then years later meeting that person can really bring back the memories and hurt. So Peyton was hurting and stubborn, but its an honest reaction. Anyways I liked reading her journey, she doesnt have to change who she is but how she feels emotionally when she reconnects with Elliot and I loved that. She has a hot mess of friends and family around her and Elliot brings some sort of normalcy.
Elliot...oh Elliot, I adored him. Not only is he sexy, sweet, charming and can tame Peyton. But he's a devoted father and would do anything for the people he cares for. Meeting with Peyton changes a lot especially when they talk out their issues. He sees the girl he liked but also loves her independent nature. Together their fantastic and holy heck their chemistry is freaking hot and I was fanning myself every time they were together. Dang!
Overall this was a great second installment and even though the ending was a little open, it was satisfying for me to get a happy place for these two. However now I need to know what the heck is going on with Chloe and Dom, they are so all over the place and so cute!
