Run Time by Catherine Ryan Howard

1.0

This was extraordinarily bad. This novel tried to be too clever with its surprise reveals and meta elements, but ended up being repetitive and borderline unreadable.

Let's see: 1) This novel is about the filming of a horror flick at a remote cabin; 2) the film is about Kate and Joel, who find a horror novel in the cabin and key plot points start to happen to them; and 3) the actress playing Kate starts experiencing the same things as the film/novel/who even cares at this point.

The twists were contrived and uncompelling, and honestly, the ending (which tried to add an additional meta component) just made me roll my eyes. Good god. What a waste of time.
