Whew! Another great book in the Fallen men series. This one was definitely the darkest of the bunch so far. Priest is the epitome of a tortured hero and we get to see his walls slowly fall away, though never completely (which is what I really liked here. Anything more would have been too unrealistic. Let’s face it, he was never going to turn into a teddy bear)

Priest and Bea’s story was a slow one, making it all the more rewarding. I loved seeing their romance unfold, all the while learning more about Priest and his past. And, because this Giana Darling, there is plenty of spice along the way (hopefully you like your spice a little stabby)

The serial killer subplot made for an interesting backdrop, though not as “twisty” as stories like this usually are (if you’re a thriller fan, this probably isn’t the book for you). This book was more character driven than plot driven. I find sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn’t. Thankfully it worked in this case and I really enjoyed spending more time with all of these characters

I’ve flown through these books and I can’t believe there’s only one left that’s currently published
