I really enjoyed this book as an adult, as someone who loves the film and tried to read the book as a youngster but did not finish.

The book is distinctly darker and more adult in its themes, and it has a lot more detail and backstory to get through before the main action.

It is an exciting and engaging story tackling themes related to capitalism which made it harder to find interesting when I was younger. I really enjoyed the story as I was reading, but the ending really threw me off - I didn’t feel it matched the rest of the story very well. The ending brought the rating down for me, but it was still a great book and I will be reading more Michael Crichton for sure.
