Alicia doesn’t speak, not since the murder of her husband. She’s been locked away in an institution considered to be the guilty party. Is she quiet because of guilt or grief? After years have passed with no progress has been made psychotherapist Theo Farber is convinced that he can help.

He quickly becomes obsessed with unlocking her secrets. I was eager to keep reading to find out why she stopped speaking and why Theo was so sure that he could help unlock the truth and get her to talk.

This was a well paced story with a good plot and a great twist. I didn’t see coming and the ending was mind blowing.

This deals with layers of trauma, obsession, and the quiet ways people break. If you love a twisty narrative that keeps you second-guessing everyone, this one will definitely hit the mark. Giving some true crime vibes disguised as a who done it.
