A nice continuation to the stories of Artemis, Butler and Holly. We see a bit of the fallout from the first book, and build on top of the foundation built in book one with regards to their tentative alliance and growing friendships.
The plot bounces around a little more than the first, from Russia to America to Ireland (as opposed to mostly taking place at Fowl Manor and being singularly focused like the first book). That being said, it was fun to see more of Holly's world. Plus, I liked Artemis way better in this book than in book one!
