King of Greed by Ana Huang

3.0

After waiting months for this book, I can’t say I’m pleased with how it turned out. Dominic and Alessandra have been one of my most anticipated 2023 couples and yet I feel like this story didn’t do them justice.

I felt like it was all a loop; push and pull all the freaking time. It was so tiring. I understand why Alessandra was acting the way she was (she had EVERY right) but after a while, I feel like she was using Dom and he definitely didn’t deserve that (what he did was horrible but I feel like she was using his feelings).

As for Dom, I wanted him to grovel better. Not just buy stuff. I wanted him to be a bit more sentimental - I get that it’s not who he is but I feel like Alessandra would have appreciated it more than what he did. I’m gonna have to agree with a comment I saw someone make: “Dom felt like he had no backbone and Alessandra just wanted to date everyone”.

Cute story but I feel like it didn’t match up to my expectations (maybe that’s why I didn’t like it?? because my expectations were too high? Either way it’s not my favourite Kings of Sin book and that hurts a little too much because I was so excited for this book).
