The Wishing Game
by Meg Shaffer
This book was nothing like I expected it would be and everything I didn’t know I needed it to be.
I can tell it’s one of those stories that is going to stick with me for awhile. The last time I felt this way was when I finished The House in the Cerulean Sea a few years ago. Even now, I still often catch myself thinking about that book.
As an avid reader my whole life I couldn’t even tell you the number of time I wished I could be in my books. I would’ve loved The Clock Island series as a kid and it made this a very intriguing premise for the book.
I loved everything about this book from cover to cover. The plot is interesting, the setting is fascinating, and the characters are easy to root for. It’s a shorter novel with excellent pacing which I find isn’t always the case and they can often feel rushed.
I can’t wait to see and read what’s to come from this author!
