lanabug711 's review for:
The Pillars of the Earth
by Ken Follett
Eh. I first read this probably 20 years ago and I recall liking it. This time, however, the book was not as fulfilling. For one thing, it's looonnngg. 975 pages of technical architecture details, followed by extreme violence, followed by graphic sex scenes. I won't be reading the rest of the series because of this. It's a shame, because learning about the medieval history of England as well as the history of the Catholic church is fascinating.
