A solid companion to Moreta, but if I hadn’t read the first book, I think I would have been thoroughly flabbergasted by this one. It’s very much a diary of the main character, told with the understanding that the reader already has context and knowledge of the events. However, because I do have that mindset, I did enjoy seeing Nerilka’s journey from her point of view. It was just so speedy, I felt I didn’t have time to fully ingest the material.
