I was scared to pick up this book as I normally dislike books about mafia, because it isn't a universe whose plots/characters/relationships appeal to me at all, but this novel made me a liar, because I ate it up. I really liked the magic system but it's the characters and the relationships between the members of the Kaul family that really did it for me.

Truly upset that my favorite character didn't make it to the 60% mark but you win some, you lose some I guess.
