The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

4.0

Love how fluid and fast paced Reid managed to cram an 80+ year story of a fictional complex and remarkable woman.
I cried at one of the last twists which really surprised me. Bumped from a 4 to a 4.5 for me.
The characters were strong, believable, and human. Plot was JUICY & flashbacks/cuts to the present were quite smooth.

Only wished it was more descriptive when characters are struggling mentally. I think because of how much was told so quickly, a bit of it felt like reading summaries or glossing over periods of processing. If you’re going to mention mental health disorders, I think it’s deserves to be elaborated on. These type of things don’t simply disappear.

This is silly but … One of my biggest book/movie pet peeves is when kids go to Ivy leagues or Stanford and it’s very casual + being studious is not part of their character.

But overall great quick read and I enjoyed :) will be checking out more of Reid’s work
