The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
by Bessel van der Kolk
informative
inspiring
slow-paced
An excellent book about the physiology of trauma, how the body stores/remembers it physically, and ways that we can hack the memory the evolve physical reactions to triggers. Truly fascinating how interconnected our physical & mental experience of life is. I learned a lot and explored parts of my own psyche through methods outlined. I think most would benefit from reading this book, but bear in mind and can get a little dry & clinical at times (understandably so!).
