I was considering shelving this book at about the 20% mark but I'm so glad I stayed with it. Definitely echo the other reviewers who dislike Dorothy and she was the main reason I thought about putting this down. The other characters are lovely and once they are more present on the page the book gets better. One thing, with such a long book there is usually a clear picture in my head of what each character and home interior etc look like and I didn't get that with this one.
