The Watchers by John Reid

Did not finish book. Stopped at 45%.
I was sent this book as part of a blog tour I participated in back in June. The synopsis sounded intriguing to me but unfortunately this didn't work for me. I made it through 45% of the book before I just couldn't force myself to continue with it anymore.

Right from the first page of the book and comments on someone's weight. It talks about how she used to be bigger and now that she's lost weight she's so pretty and they nicknamed her Twiggy. When I saw all of that I was immediately just thinking ugh, but I kept going hoping that it was just a one off. It wasn't. They bring up this character's weight all throughout the part that I read, and it literally had absolutely nothing to do with the story.

That was my main issue with this book, but I also found myself being bored and I didn't care about the actual investigation side of the story. Because of these 2 things I just decided it wasn't worth me forcing it because I would just be hate reading it and that's not fair to me or the author.

Take my review with a grain of salt because I seem to be in the minority here. If it sounds like something you would typically enjoy I would definitely say give it a try for yourself.
