Falling With You by Carrie Ann Ryan

5.0

With every new book the Fractured Connections series gets better and better. Sienna and Aiden have been circling each other throughout the first two books in this series and it was so great, a relief almost, to finally see them find their way to each other.
The main characters in this series never have it easy and the same is true for Sienna and Aiden, there is more for them to overcome than the loss of their mutual friend Alison. Sienna finds herself in dangers situations and Aiden has a painful secret in his past that he needs to open up about because he is haunted by it still. They both have a tendency to worry and take on blame/responsibility for things they have no control over. For Aiden that translates into his infamous anger management issues, while Sienna turns to avoidance/denial as a crutch.
Aiden and Sienna gravitate quite gradually, or so it seems at first, from friendship to coupledom and a new normal for them both, a normal where they can be together without guilt and let the embers of their old crushes grow into a deeper love. Aiden is great at saying & doing the exact wrong thing, even when he means well, but he learns from his mistakes, motivated by love, which was wonderful.
Aiden and Diego were the sweetest! Who knew he was a cat person! I loved all of Sienna’s cats too, and how Aiden and Sienna constantly talked to their pets. Too adorable.
Apart from the romances and the wonderful couples, the strength of this series lies in the sense of friendship and family that is omnipresent, inspiring and endearing. I love how they all stick together and I adore every glimpse we get of the secondary characters. Dillon is the brightest light for me, always, and I was so moved by him in this story especially! I do hope he gets his own book sooner rather than later.

Narration: Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell continue on the road to audio greatness. They did such an amazing job narrating this story and all its characters, both main and secondary ones. I really enjoyed the emotion they brought to their performances as well as their pacing and timbre. What also stands out to me, is how great they both are at doing voices for characters of the opposite sex. Recommend!
