Literally a life-changing read. The manipulative genius of this novel is something very rare, and the subject is something timeless. This is the only book that has made me actually laugh out loud.
I will say, however, I was bored by the parts that didn’t have Lolita in them. Humbert’s incessant rambling is a bit hard to slog through with nobody opposing him to root for, though I do understand why that is and the book is better for it.
A beautiful mind-fuck of a journey into the abuser’s psyche.
Tugs at the darkest and most hidden parts of all of us.
