This is the perfect prequel to ease into the series in my opinion. I was never fully invested in the idea of the series by how it sounded in book 1 but reading the prequel has me aching for more. The complexity of all the characters and how they’re portrayed is so beautifully written. It can get difficult with all the jumping around plot wise, but other than that I can’t wait to continue this series.
