I'm not sure how to rate this. Feel free to add or subtract a star. :D

Sometimes I amaze myself by what am I willing to read just because I come upon it by chance.
This book opened with a clear "if you're reading this, I assume you are a ROM/hack enthusiast" - well I'm not, I'm just curious about games. :D

But I liked it. The romhack part of the book was interesting enough to be sure, but the main treat for me was the latter part, about Translations.

At first I was puzzled đŸ¤¨ - what's so interestig about _game translations_? Then it turned out they mean fan translations of games that were only released in Japan that translate games to English, making them unoficially available and playable to the rest of us, who definitely can't play them in Japanese.
These were reviews of interesting games I otherwise would never stumble upon. I've even started playing one of them, Mother 3, for a bit.
I'm not sure if and when I'll be reading the second book - I haven't played the games mentioned, and there doesn't seem to be a Translations section. But I'm glad I've finished this one.
