Callypso (Callie) is a Glamour (a human with powers to control people) who kills her stepfather to start off the book. Then she calls upon Desmond (Des/The Bargainer) who is a Fae king from the Otherworld and makes a deal to make the death of her stepfather disappear essentially. They become very close and then Des disappears for 7 years. Once he comes back, she owes all 322 debts she asked for. And when he requests her help to figure out what is going on in his kingdom they figure out what the other has been feeling this whole time together and apart.
