Love Is a Stranger
by John Wiltshire
2.5 stars. This had so many things that should have made me enjoy it: some mystery/suspense elements, excellent audio narration, slow burn romance where they fuck first and then develop feelings later, high angst, lovely writing style.
However, there's something that didn't work or connect. This was a very meh "I read this book" energy read for me. I was hoping for more action/suspense/plot, and this was very heavily a romance between an established couple who also had some pesky plot stuff happening in between their romantic, emotional, and sexual intimacy development.
Cliffhanger, check out CWs. There's CSA mentioned a few times, CNC, lube doesn't exist here, pedophilia, on page torture and murder, death of loved one, some gore you'd see in action-y stories.
