The Forbidden Door by Dean Koontz

The Jane Hawk books are very interesting. You do not have to read the previous books to enjoy the current book, but I think knowing the background is beneficial. In this book everything gets really crazy, and exciting. You fear for her life and her child, but also for the many people we do not suspect there are a group of people out there that can hurt you and your family and you will find yourself doing what they ask, because you think they are homeland security or CIA or FBI and they are not.
It can make you really paranoid. But, it also allows you to see our current lives as becoming worse since there are so many disgruntled people and people who have mental issues due to their up bringing or from being poor or mistreated and how they can be manipulated into thinking they are working for a good cause, which is really bad. (scary)
