I was writing review as I went through the book so it may be a bit chaotic.
Starting off with the miscommunication trope was definitely not the way I would prefer it to go. And Grace’s indecisiveness and doubts about her feelings started getting on my nerves by the middle of the book. Her constant hysterics about mating bond and poor Hudson had to deal with all this. She creates conflicts out of thin air.
If Grace talks about breaking the bond one more f*cking time… She is so weird, I swear. She had two bonds and she keeps yammering about breaking the second one to fix the first, even knowing the first one was artificially created. Now she just pisses me off. She tries to save Jaxon’s soul but she doesn’t think that breaking her bond with Hundson will potentially subject him to the same fate, even if it was a solution, which is not. Ugh, I’m almost over this stupidity.
Grace is quickly becoming the most annoying person ever. Constantly going on and on about the same grievances of her life. I’ve got to say, these books are way too long for their own good.
Despite my feelings towards Jaxon in the first book, Hudson definitely has some qualities over him. One of the main ones is he never solved Grace’s problems but always encouraged and helped her to deal with them by herself. He always pushed her to be better which is an amazing trait in a partner. And Hudson deals with Grace’s self-beating, self-doubt and savior complex like a champ.
